Cross-Cultural Training
The SE Multination campus has started a Family Advocacy and Care effort to serve the Immigrant population in Louisville and we would love to have you join us. Start by attending a 2-hour Cross-cultural training where you will learn about cross-cultural home visits. We will cover topics such as learning to listen without jumping in with a solution or offer to fix the issue; how to help without causing dependence; how to avoid the "Western - Fixit" mentality where we begin to see people as projects without empowering and equipping them, and how to provide assistance and show the love of Jesus without stripping the person of their dignity.
Once you have completed the training, you would then be prepared to join one of our Home Visit teams.
Multiple training sessions are being offered, registration and attendance is required only once.
Trainings will take place virtually via zoom.
